Illusions
by Munaqabah Poet
USA

Walking through this world
I'm dawned by illusions
The sun sets and rises
But my eyes seem to lose vision
Open a book to unveil the hearts
The seerah of Rasulullah (s); With this man my heart shall never part
Amatullah; my Lord, I'm here to serve
With women like Fatimah Zahra
Ponder over her beauty;
Internally pricking every nerve
Living in the west
Looking both sides, right and left
With every word uttered, a glimpse of modesty
In this world live with simplicity
A Mu'min above a Muslim
Raising our hands toward the sky, the lights becoming Dim
Noorun Ala Noor, Light Upon Light
Adhering to Allah's commands; unable to differentiate between day and night.
