Believers
by Aminah Darden
USA

From afar,
I look at you and cry
Why?  Do you ask
These tears from my eye?

I do not know you,
Not even your name
But my love for you
Is all the same

My beautiful sister,
My respected brother
We must cultivate our love
Of one another

One faith is what we share
Of that you are fully aware
We know our God is One,
But our struggle to love has only begun

Are we ready?
Are we up to the task?
Purity of our hearts, Oh Lord
Is all that we ask
