My Sisters Stand Strong
by Suriya Jaekoma
USA

No Longer shackled by the oppression of miniskirts and see-thru shirts,
my sisters stand strong.
Covered by beautiful cloth as a submission to ALLAH
my sisters stand strong
they stand apart from the crowd. The many taunts, stares and leers,
my sisters stand strong
never dissuading from following the Deen
my sisters stand strong
Real women indeed, the epitome of femininity
elegant, secure, complete human beings
my sisters stand strong
not slaves to the world of fashion
my sisters stand strong
fashion is always having the fads asking
for women to dress in as little as they possibly can.
Miniskirts see-thru shirts and hip hugging pants
the Hijab is for the sake of ALLAH
in Iman and in Taqwa
lowering their gaze continuously giving praise
my sisters stand strong
living by the rules of the Qur'an
and following the Prophet's Sunnah
my sisters stand strong
these sisters refuse to be made into objects, by men.
Such are my sisters in Islam
my sisters live on!
