My Hero
by Ayah A.
USA

Dear Muslims who've been hurt,
Our pain is being shared,
Fear not, grieve not,
For God is always there.

Allah is my protector
Who watches over me,
Muhammad is my hero
Sent by God to admonish me.

But what is it about Muhammad
That makes him a hero to us all?
I assure his valiance
To those who cannot recall.

Kindhearted and humane, he was,
A Mercy to Mankind,
Tenderhearted, yet firm in his ways,
To God he was consigned.

Illiterate, yet wise,
Always finding compromise,
Those that follow in his footsteps
Shall be given heaven's prize.

Remember on the Hijrah
When hope had gone away,
Trapped in a cave with dear Abu Bakr,
What did the Prophet say?

"Fear not, grieve not,
For God is always there."
He held fast and he held strong
To his faith and to his prayer.

Muhammad is God's messenger,
We say this everyday.
Show your allegiance; be proud of your faith,
Bow your heads now and pray...

Remember the Prophet's very words
Acknowledged by God Himself,
In that book you've stored away
On your very highest shelf

"Fear not, grieve not,
For God is always there."
Hold fast, Dear Brothers,
Hold strong, Dear Sisters,
To your faith and to your prayer
