Search For Eternal Life
by Uzma Ahmed
USA

O'Allah I am searching for something
eternal on the face of earth,
Where life is fading everyday,
erasing from pages of life..

Where love is tempory and superficial,
changing with the passage of time,
where friendships are unreal and unlasting,
diminishing as flame in the winds of time,
where relations hanging by the thread of life,
and I wonder if there is anything lasting in this fleeting world of mine....

Blood spilling on land,
in the name of flag,
where bodies disintrigrated in mass graves,
Images engraved in my mind,
lost honor, degraded moral, values crushed in the name of flag,
and I wonder is there any thing lasting in this fleeting world of mine.....

Oh Lord of heaven and Earth,
Is my search in vain?
Or is there a lasting world  beyond this time,
beyond this fleeting world of mine.......
