Droplet of Timeless Existence
by Nudrat Siddiqui
USA

Thy soul sits at the edge of a stream
Alone, in a solitary distance
Eyes captivating the image with the shadow of a light beam
with the stroke of the hand a formation of ripples and its existence
Upon posing at this specific abode - leaning forward to notice a mirror image

Thy soul sits at the edge of a stream
Alone, in a solitary distance
Eyes captivating the image with the shadow of a light beam
with the stroke of the hand a formation of ripples and its existence
Upon posing at this specific abode - leaning forward to notice a mirror image
Hands filled with water trickling over the beauty of the face unlocking a cage
With each trickling droplet escaped the poison, refreshing sensation marking years of the past
The reflection mutating the remainder from first to last
A soul of dreaded hope drowning itself in the body of land,
running to dive in the range of water - flowing as a strand
with each leap it weakened
this ghostly figure could battle no more, a self - interrogation led to suspicion of the forthcoming end
revival was of no hope while distance remained
just a drop - the body was unchained
leaping to both feet, standing firmly
identity was gained, yet time fading slowly
Alone, in a solitary distance
only enough to express allegiance in the remainder of the timeless existence
weakness fallen over such revival
at ease - letting go, reaching for survival
Lost but truly found
covered in the earth, six feet beneath the ground
time was only to lend
a gift... the suspected end

I'm to Return
by Nudrat Siddiqui
USA

The years of my life may pass me by
upon this note, many may rejoice
but my heart cannot bear the nearing of the day
by which the wind shall blow my soul away
the day in which lies this second, holds the key to my entrance
yet it holds the lock, yearning closer...
for that moment, there is no distance. Read More

but my heart cannot bear the nearing of the day
by which the wind shall blow my soul away
the day in which lies this second, holds the key to my entrance
yet it holds the lock, yearning closer...
for that moment, there is no distance.
Leaping closer, that very day
when my soul may screech away
remembering death as it remembers me
on this day, I thank Rabbil Alameen
I was born, but I will return, Inshallah upon the path of the blessed deen
with nothing lost, but much earned

Do I Still Have Time?
by Saad Rais
CAN

As the night settles in,
The body yearns for sleep.
I lay in my bed,
Gazing at the roof,
Letting my thoughts wonder endlessly

Will I wake up a believer, or a disbeliever?
Will I wake up?
Count my deeds! Count my deeds!
What deeds?
Count my sins! Count my sins!
O those ... Read More

Will I wake up a believer, or a disbeliever?
Will I wake up?
Count my deeds! Count my deeds!
What deeds?
Count my sins! Count my sins!
O those sins!
I still have time.
Ask for forgiveness! Ask for forgiveness!
I whisper the shahadah over and over like a madman.

The warmth of my blanket beckons me to sleep,
My wondering thoughts become more distant,
The eyes give in,
And I know not if I will wake up

Death!
by Abubakar Yusuf
NGA

The conveyor of souls to the hereafter
That must visit every soul later
Wherever you may be does not matter
The Angel of Death will reach you further
Death!
A reality of life
It knows no class, age or religious line
All must taste of it

The Angel of Death will reach you further
Death!
A reality of life
It knows no class, age or religious line
All must taste of it
So Allah has decreed
Death!
When it comes, life which succeeds will be better
So promised our Lord
To all Believers
Muslims, why not lie and wait for your death
To eternal Glory Allah has promised us
What could be better than die a Muslim

The Legacy
by Muhammad Ali
USA

Death is something that we all have to face;
We cannot postpone it, regardless of our wealth or race.

Bargaining for more time will not keep us around:
Death will take us, no matter where we are bound!

Death is something that we all have to face;
We cannot postpone it, regardless of our wealth or race.

Bargaining for more time will not keep us around:
Death will take us, no matter where we are bound!

Each of us has an appointed time for leaving this life;
Some people will pass away while trying to remove worldwide strife.

Our ancestors have struggled to improve human conditions on Earth:
From them we have a legacy of immeasurable worth!
