IslamicPoetry.org is a new internet poetry site entirely dedicated to Islamic poetry. Our mission is to encourage poets of all ages, nationalities, and cultures to submit their poetry on various Islamic themes in order to have their heartfelt inspirations heard and serve as a means to benefit readers from different communities around the world.

Poems in praise of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), and a variety of other Islamic topics, are found in abundance in the various lands and languages of the Muslim World such as Arabic, Chinese, Dari, Malay, Pashto, Turkish, Urdu, among many others. The great significance of encouraging others to strive and apply themselves in composing such poetry should not be belittled or forgotten. It is a symbol of Islamic renaissance, and we hope to encourage people in the West and abroad to take part in its preservation and revitalization. Since many Muslims living in the West, consider English to be their first language, we hope this website will, God willing, help to promote and advance Islamic poetry in the English language. Although the goal of this website is quite simple and transparent, the benefits derived from its atmosphere of healthy competition and co-operation will be far-reaching.

The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, “Indeed some forms of speech are magical” (Bukhari) and “Indeed there is wisdom in some forms of poetry” (Bukhari), meaning that words can have a spellbinding effect and can captivate the hearts of people. Each person may have his or her own unique style and can use it to inspire others toward good, piety, morality, righteousness, and self contemplation, among other things. IslamicPoetry.org has been set up to encourage this method of expression for the betterment of our selves, our communities, and the world.

New contents are being added to the IslamicPoetry.org website daily. We hope to showcase a variety of poems on the website whose themes would revolve around various subjects from the Qur’an, the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and grant him peace), Allah’s Final Messenger to this world and rest of the universe. Hosting poetry and essay writing competitions on the various Islamic themes is another one of our goals. Our first competition, which served as the main inspiration for the making of this website, is called The International Praise the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) Poetry Competition where poems praising and describing various characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace) will be posted and evaluated. We hope to begin accepting submissions to the poetry contest by the end of this month as it is the month (Rabi’ al-Awwal) in which the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) was born, as well the National Poetry Month. We wish to invite Muslims and non-Muslims of all ages to take part in this contest of English poetry in praise of the most praiseworthy creation, the beloved of Allah, His messenger and prophet, Muhammad (Allah bless him and give him peace). Please click here to view our criteria for submitting poetry.

If You Enjoy Reading Poetry...

then you have found the right place to be inspired by the many submissions. Additionally, if you consider yourself a poet, then you've come to the right place to submit your poetry and share your thoughts with others who share the same passion. Consider this to be your Islamic poetry portal: read, write, and review poetry, read testimonials from prominent Muslim scholars, navigate through our resources and links, and take part in our Praise the Prophet (Allah bless him and grant him peace) International poetry competition.

We ask that Allah accept this effort, and make it a means for the guidance of all humanity. Please free to contact us with your feedback, questions, or comments here.
