My Cherished Beloved

I never knew,

what it really meant ,

to love till I read of him,

but the love, that coarses through my heart, soul, and body

occured instantaneously

his story touched, grasped, shook, cradled me like a newborne baby,

Fully shaken, tears spilling

I was taken by him, my beloved,

his love shone in Badr,

over mountains and overseas,

his love drew many a friend,

Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali,

oh so many companions,

who grieved, fought, side by side,

knowing he had pure truth, knowing he had full piety

His love for Allah,

the truth brought many enemies though too,

who attempted to avenge,

spite, mock, despise, cut, poison, him,

my beloved,

Tears streaming,

I sit hear shaking,

saddened by such cruelty betooken on he who cared,

for many a needy, many a dieing, many a people

asking for not a single thing,

he who offered the world a guide, a path that was right

and despite all plights,

of no insight,

he who brought the light

Man yes,

but so selfless, honest, remarkably pious,

walking Qur'an indeed,

my rasulullAllah, my beloved,

there is no human can compareth

I stood silently among the crowd
Uncomfortable, yet unwilling to break free
Each stranger wore the cloak of sin
Their foul smell seeping into me.
My eyes darted here and there
I sensed someone beckoning to me
and my heart yearned when I saw him
Standing upon a lighted straight and narrow path
His words wafted on the breeze
Come walk with me; Come talk with me
My heart swelled, as my footsteps drew me towards him
But then, I stumbled, doubted, and turned my face away
For just a second
When I looked back my panic rose
Where is he? Where did the lighted path go?
Instead to my right and to my left
Only crooked, dark and lonely paths
I raced down each with evil laughter following me
Dark, cold, foul smelling places ending in an Abyss
Panic. Awareness of my loss growing steadily
He was nowhere to be found
Not in these places. Only the strangers in that crowd
Falling to my knees.Tears streaming from my eyes
All my wrong doings spilling from my lips
I cried aloud: O Allah where did he go?
Alone now and frightened. Quite decends
The silence is broken by that gentle breeze
And then once more I hear him calling to me
Come walk with me. Come talk with me.
There he is! Beloved Prophet of Islam!
Now I accept him, most praiseworthy guide,
Now, I am a Muslim, Now I am free.

My Hero Is Your Hero

We sat around the table, my daughter, son and me
Shall I tell you a new story?
They both chorused, No! Let me. Let me.
Hmm...I responded. Let's play a guessing game instead
We'll take turns describing favorite heroes
And then guess who they could be.

My hero was a great leader and fought bravely in each battle.
My hero washed his clothes with no complaint and was kind to all he met.
What a coincidence I said because my hero did both of these.
Son said his hero was the greatest teacher the world had ever known.
Daughter giggled and said her hero and his wife played racing games.
How amazing I exclaimed because my hero did both of these.

A dark cloud in the sky followed my hero when he was just a boy.
Daughter claimed her hero became a great trader while working for his wife.
Oh, my! this is astounding because my hero did both of these.
Son scratched his head while thinking hard...not willing to give up.
Daughter twirled her braid and thought aloud who can Mom's hero be?
I smiled knowingly at both of them and waited patiently.

Son grinned broadly and then announced importantly
My hero never told a lie and taught Muslims how to pray.
Daughter said her hero could top that. Son said there was no way.
My hero talked to Allah's Angel she declared dramatically.
My goodness I said with wonder because my hero did both of these!
At this point my children protested. You haven't told us anything!

So I declared my hero left his Sunnah for all mankind to understand.
He recited each of Allah's Words in our most honored Qur'an.
I know! I know! Both clamored wildly waving hands at me.
Your hero is our hero they exclaimed excitedly.
They had solved the guessing game and were bursting with their glee.
Our hero is the Last Prophet, Muhammad, the most Trusted and Praiseworthy.

There was a time when the world needed JUSTICE, Humans : astray due to malpractrice,
Worshipping Idols : Legal without any notice,
But all came to an end by a man who people thought was just a novice.

Humble, Subtle, Simple of a man was he,Who guided mankind to their promised destiny.
Truthful , Trustworthy, were some of the many titles he held.
His IMAAN and DETERMINATION WAS TRULY IRONWELD.

Discriminated by his own, hearing words: worthy of heart breaks whenver ever being told,
Despite that he always remained BOLD,SPREADING THE MESSAGE OF GOD,
Whether Young , or whether OLD.

Migrated : elevated ISLAM to a level uncompared,
People were in awe of him, due to the wisdom he shared,
man among men is what we were told,As history slowly began to unfold

Fought battles worthy of being praised, Having the FIRE to win, despite his army being disgraced,
With the LOVE FOR ALLAH , Deeply rooted to his heart,
He fought for the Muslims,And shattered the non beliefs apart.

"Submit to Allah" ,Is what we were told,
He paved the way , Like a treasure map to priceless GOLD.

"Love thy Mother", "For HEAVEN lies under her FEET",
bringing tears to my eyes, even now as i speak,

A leader, a father, a family man, A brother , a mentor, a general with a DIVINE PLAN,
The ideal muslim any muslim can be, Whose only message was to : WORSHIP ALLAH and PRAISE THEE.

He lived a life,A life worthy of living ,Never held a grudge,Was Always Forgiving.
Forgave his people, Forgave his foes,
Such was our Prophet,Whose love for his UMMAH never ceased to grow.

Praise be to Allah, Who had the PERFECT PLAN,
Sent us the MESSIAH , THE WORLD's PERFECT MAN,
MUHAMMAD was his name, ISLAM : the passion of his heart,
The Rasool of Allah,
From the end,
Till the start

In the beginning we were all the same,
Born of a mother and enlightened with one sacred flame.
To each soul born a purpose is served.
Some walk a straight path, for others, it is curved.
Oh Mohammed, born of the flame,
Born of a mother, from Allah you came.
Your purpose was served, Allah's words you relayed.
Following His commands, to Allah you obeyed.
Oh messenger of God, who loved life and peace,
Who was attacked, unjustly, by a press release.
What would you had said, if you were here today,
To your lovers of life, and to those who are astray?
Dear beloved of Allah, I personally so think,
You would have told us to have mercy, on those with haraam ink.
When men killed their newborn girls, by Allah's word you held strong,
To save their lives, you corrected what was wrong.
My reasoning is this, you taught love for life,
To kill one, is to kill many, even if by excited strife.
Dear beloved of Allah, I personally so think,
You would have had mercy, on those with haraam ink.
Every time you passed her window, she threw water on you,
Yet in love you went along, when she was dead, you knew.
My reasoning is this, in Hadith I dwell upon,
With love you taught, and with love you won.
Speaking without words, in silence you rose above,
With compassion you showed mercy, in mercy you knew love.
Dear beloved of Allah, I personally so think,
You would have had mercy, on those with haraam ink.

He gave it up
He gave it all
He gave his life
So we don't fall

He was tortured
He was pained
When there was hail of stones and rock
He refused the choice from God
To bring the mountains together forever
He knew that soon
They'd follow the One.

He always showed faith and strength
In the face of sudden despair
He did not care for himself
Yet for us he did not give up
He felt hunger, he felt thirst
And knew his Lord
Would bring us aboard

He treated people like his kin
Rich or poor
Black or white
His servant chose his company
Over his own family

Even when the sun and moon
Were offered pleadingly
He chose paradise over earth
And chose God over idol

When he went on the trip above
He asked God to ease on us
Fifty times over

What would we do
Without our savior?

Like all creation... Humanity appeared.
Yes, Mankind with some men who
were exceptionally kind;

True hearts and integrity one would find.
Unique and reflective in their disposition

Affirmed
and confirmed by
and in Their vision.

He too
stepped this Way.
The Best in him; the Best of them
Leader.
The most fearful, but the bravest
Masterful Guide of The Way with humility in teaching and excepting each day
as a brief stay
traversing to The ONE

As I looked over the horizon
To see the sinking, flaming red sun,
I became serenely tranquil
And reflected on my Lord God, the One.
I thought of the movements of this orb
And the planets each in their course;
Not forgetting the moon and stars,
Which light the world for us when it is dim.
For it was Abraham who first reflected
On the creation of the world.
In the starlight, moonlight, sunlight, he was
Pondering, as the winds of change did swirl.
Soon he led his people to a knowledge -
Of God’s vast purpose and His plan.
And three nations did proceed
To bring forth to humanity: the final messenger, a man.
A mercy to the world
With a character exalted over all.
A teacher, in words and deeds,
Sent for all mankind, both great and small.
The last Messenger to mankind, Muhammad,
Declared: no fair man is better than a dark nor dark preferred over fair.
Righteousness resides in the heart, and
In gentleness to a child: in the ruffling of his hair.
In his reliance on Allah, most High and Great,
Muhammad’s Sunnah, his example, remains with us, plain and clear.
Knowledge of Allah and His Oneness,
Is, upon us all, obligatory: the knowledge we must seek.
And, yet, the path to His pleasure, lies in
following the footsteps of Muhammad, the prophet of the strong and the weak.

Take a look at this world with an open eye,

But take a step back because you might as well cry.

When you see and feel creation made by the Creator,

You'll understand the magnitude of beauty and realize there's no one greater.

Seeing is believing is a step we all must take,

But believing in the unseen is Iman that won't shake.

So let's wake up from this dream,

And say, Authu billahi mina shaytanir rajeem,

And prepare for the hereafter,

Because it lasts longer than our laughter.

So let's do ourselves a favour,

Learn etiquette and proper behaviour.

Replicate the companions of the Rasul,

Then watch yourself drule.

For the thirst of taqwa,

I'm not giving no fatwa.

It's the way it was meant to be,

Because the path to prosperity,

Is attained through a heart full of purity!

The night yearned for dawn
Its chance to tell the day
The glad tidings it heard
When he stood to pray.

He was Muhammed
May he be blessed
With the purest of hearts
Beating in his chest.

He recited with ease
His authority clear
To convey words of peace
All the Earth yearned to hear.

And soon the birds sang
As the call pierced the air
Oh mankind, leave your works
And come forth for prayer.

For he has rejected
all earthly reward
no bribe of sun or moon
could turn him from his lord.

So that I may,
After all this time
Recite words
that are fully sublime

And give the night
another chance to tell the day
Her favorite account,
I heard man pray.
