If only I could paint what the heart has yearned to tell
For so long
My crimson lessons of Peace, mercy and Beauty
All locked in a name
Muhammad
That name so moves me and my bones
So beautiful like ummah, like mama, like Moses
These special words that mean so much
Are not far from a touch in the Holy Book

A beautiful teacher for mankind,
A perfect teacher for mankind.
How can I tell you of what the soul has
Yearned to sing
About the one most beautiful thing
In the crimson treasures of Islam?

My heart quivers as I hold this pen,
A men to crown all men,
A true father to felicitate all men.

My soul trembles as it begins to sing
And I want to cry before I begin
When I mean to tell you is this king,
This king has so moved kindness in me
So etched the veins of faith in me.

This great leader, a lion in strength, a rose in spirit
Was an orphan at heart,
But no greater charity was paid on his part
Than the love he gave us from the very start,
When we were poor, ignorant, too happy to know true love
And there came this light to teach us
About true love,
To guide us and endure our plight
He loved us and tired in teaching us
Loved us and forgave us and even
Stood up and fought for us
Cried for us and prayed for us

And I don't think I've ever known a love as true as this
A friendship as bracing as this
To make me remember the beauty and Bliss
From Allah, who teaches us about;
Love Mercy and Peace,
Through great men as this,
Who lead us back ah truly
To the crimson treasures of what we lack

A beautiful Teacher for Mankind

the day had come for me to leave my home

to make my way down many crooked streets

and though i left my father's path to walk alone

i always felt that God had walked with me

but in the dark of night i lost my way

fell in with those whose portion is His wrath

but didn't realize I'd gone astray

until i met a stranger on the path

he spoke in words I knew were not his own

his heart so pure the truth was always clear

and though he walked he said he didn't roam

but took one step with love and one with fear

step by step i followed as he led

and to his faith i testified an oath

but when i offered thanks to him he said

all praise be to He who guides us both

You walked in.

I had left the door open,
open to a room full of potential,
but shrouded in emptiness.
And you walked into my lonely existence.
Making my head a womb for my brain;
evolving, changing, never-ending.
And so I started to be,
slowly turning I into we.

Slowly.

And finally,
our two pieces of Velcro met,
interlocking like fingers within fingers.
Nobody could ever come around,
and rip apart this bond,
taking you from me.
Never again would it be I,
always and forever just we.

O Divine beauty! you it is whom I see,
brightest star in the sky, shining on me.
O gentle river! flowing from the mountain of Majesty,
millions rush to you, drinking so thirstily.
O shining moon! that never eclipses on our side,
people gravitate toward you like the ever-rising tide.
O Grand Prophet! I orbit you like Earth does the Sun,
I follow the path you have laid to Allah, the Glorious One.
The light you emit unwraps the stealth of the dark,
shine away, Master Prophet, ignite us with your spark.

Around my feet, bound were chains,
you unlocked the cuffs, took away the pain.
You saved me from myself, didn't leave me alone,
with Allah's Map you showed me the safest way home.
I know not the name of any other educator,
for I have studied only at the school of man's liberator.
Were I to sacrifice all things of this material place,
it would be unworthy compared to your elevated grace.
I can only give you love and show you respect,
perfection you are, no signs to reject.
My beloved, my soul desires to fly to you.
Alas, if only I could fly.

See I have this love for a man,
And to tell u the truth, I've never met him
Yet my heart beats for a sight of him.

It's a strange feeling because I've never even heard him
But I know that just a sound of his footsteps will have me shaking
Not because of my fear of him, but because of my love for him

It's just that people have been telling me stories of him
So I think that's where I base my love for him

You're probably thinking I'm crazy, right?
But crazy doesn't even cut it
This love is like borderline insanity
It's making me believe people can defy gravity
Travel 800 miles in 1 night, when he didn't even have that kind of technology

He climbed seven heavens
Had one as his weapon
His silence was his eloquence
His quietness spoke gems
So I'm thinking this man was a man of reality
He spoke words of truth and honesty
Like an arsonist ignites, he spread light through dark localities
Brought kindness to brutality
Brought justice to prisoners and squashed slavery
This man of mercy was a mercy to humanity
And the vessel of inner beauty

He taught me to love and how to love,
When he said, "my eyes do sleep, but my heart never does"
When others before him would say nafsi, nafsi
He would say, ummati, ummati

And why can't people understand
That desert sand misses this man
More than it does rain
That a tree wept from pain
When it missed just the touch of his hand

So how can I not love this man?
How can I not long for a sight of this man?
How can my mind not dream of this man?
Or my heart not pump only for this man?
How can my soul not long to be connected with this man?
Or my mouth not long to be fed by this man?
How can my eyes not tear for this man?
Or my ears not long for silence just to hear this man?

I love you ya Rasoolullah, I really do

Where you there!
When the new moon rose and the light spread across the shores striking the hearts with awe

Where you there!
When the trees bowed down to grace holding the believers embrace

Where you there!
When a mother gave birth and her womb lit a glow while the milk flowed leaving no cup bare

Where you there!
When daughters of men return alive will come to know the mercy of tears

Where you there!
When the heart was opened to all that was good and pure while The Wise began to call

Where you there!
When the prophets were aligned behind a shining star that the night allowed a pass to the lord

Where you there!
When the plea came on our behalf so that are needs may not go unheard

Where you there!
When the sun and the moon was offered to a messenger that claimed no benefit to the self

Where you there!
When sacrifices were made to count blessings for an eternal home

Where you there!
Attacked by words yielding thorns bearing patiently with nothing but kind replies

Where you there!
When displaced from a home only to return to a place were deeds are rewarded multi-fold

Where you there!
Amongst the swelling feet in the depths of the night praising where no birds can sing alike

Where you there!
Travelling in time unveiling the past and the future while history is still yet to write

Will you be there?
Sending peace and blessings upon the moon that shown so bright

Oh! Allah! Seize us no time to praise the one you call beloved
Peace and blessings of Allah be upon you

Note: each verse is on two lines

Who Was This Man

Heart taken out his chest and,
purified in zam zam water and,
placed back without harm.
At the age of six.
This was no trick.

Uncovered for a minute and,
passed out in a minute and,
this was a sign from Allah.
That this man would be more.
A reformation was in store.

Married a wealthy woman and,
could of had any woman and,
chose one who would embrace the message.
Was this just happenstance?
Or divinely guided circumstance?

Contemplating in the cave of Hira and,
Jibrael brought the first revelation and,
he ran home to this wife, Khadijah.
She wrapped him as he shivered.
Instant belief in what the angel delivered.

He went on to preach this message and,
laid his life on the line for this message and,
saw a religion perfected before his death.
He was Islam exemplified.
Days of jahilliyah was rectified.

This man dearer to me than my closest of kin and,
I follow Quran and his sunnah,as my way of life and,
would you believe I, never even met him?
Yet, his deen is my deen and I'll love him till death.
May I die upon his deen, La illaha illallah Muhammadur Rasollulah with my dying breath.

My heart passes through
Desert after desert of
People, places and time.

Sands of life stiring all around me-
Shifting, whirling, blinding-
Blinding my heart, and
Choking my soul

Until found in the driest desert,
Barely breathing,
Soul almost snatched

A convert to his love is what
I claim to be
My desert oasis was much more than me
With love and mercy for all humanity

Perserving my life,
While saving my parched soul
With belief in one God
As THE final goal.

Favored by our Creator,
But still only a man
A guidance sent by Allah
His teachings found in every language
Traversing every desert land.

The Prophet (saw) was
An enlightening soul for his people
Loved by anyone who he had encountered

A man he was

Through his sayings and teachings it wouldn't be hard to say
That I love him too
